During a phase of unusually warm and sunny weather, we managed our first barbecue of the season. It was a quick and easy affair and we cooked some Buffalo Burgers, Heston’s Boerwurst and some Toulouse sausages, all from Waitrose. The burgers and Boerwurst were particularly tasty.
We opened a bottle of The Hundred Shiraz 2008 an Australian red from the Sunday Times Wine Club. We had some bottles of this wine a few years back and I recall we liked it.
First impressions were that it needed food. We both found it spicy. Teresa tasted blackberries and plums, but I felt red fruits were prominent. We both agreed it was sharp rather than rounded. A pleasant mouthful though with the food, eaten al fresco.
