We held a Tapas party to celebrate our forthcoming 35th Wedding Anniversary. A variety of hot and cold dishes were prepared, including meatballs, sardines and chorizo stew. We offered guests a choice of three Spanish wines to go with the Tapas – Torres Viña Esmerelda 2009 a Penedes white from Costco. Aromatic, fruity and herby. A good choice to go with a variety of dishes. We had two reds to match with the richer meat-based dishes – Campo Viejo Rioja Crianza and Geni Tempranillo, the latter in a wine box. Both wines were also from Costco. Both we and our guests thought these also worked well with the variety of dishes on offer.
